Non-fancy brunch around Waltham?

Chris VR | Apr 5, 2002 09:06 AM

We have plans to get together for brunch on Sunday with my bro and SIL, who live in Waltham. They are pretty much the anti-Chowhound types... favorite places are Red Lobster and Olive Garden. When we went out in the North End she was very unimpressed because they didn't have spaghetti and meatballs on the menu. So their tastes are very plain and simple.

Any recommendations for a cheap, pay one price brunch buffet type place with hotel pans full of "normal" food, like pancakes and sausage? A hotel type buffet would probably be just what they would be looking for.

The only two places that come to mind are Sports Depot and the Kells in Allston, and I'm not sure if they still do brunch. Plus not having to head into the city would be a plus.
