i went to the "other" famoso, in terwilliger, recently for lunch, and maybe it's that i just had pizza in chicago...but it wasn't up to the same standard as i remember having downtown. the pizza was burnt on the bottom - like black and charred and for several bites, all i could taste was the charred bottom. meanwhile, and somewhat inexplicably, it was soggy. how it can be burnt and soggy is anyone's guess, but it was worse on one pizza than it was on the other. we ordered extra mushrooms on the vesuvio, but we didn't get very many.
i heard they are opening a third location in south ed common. is this an example of over franchising resulting in lower quality food? (think, Wok Box!) Is the food perhaps better at the downtown location?
