We will be visiting Oahu in late March for an extended family get together including our extended family visiting from the mainland getting together with local family who live in Kailua and Honolulu. We would like to host a dinner for everyone (which will be 16 total), likely on a Monday or Tuesday night.
We are renting a house in Kailua and so both Kailua and Honolulu locations are an option. Our party includes 3 kids but mainly adults. No one is a particularly picky eater, but we do have a couple of food allergies (crustaceans and peanuts/tree nuts). In terms of food, Japanese, Korean or local would be great, but we're flexible.
Price-- I have some flexibility but I'm not trying to break the bank, hoping we could find something around $75/pp. We're not big drinkers, so not too worried about bar tab.
Also-- we're renting a big house in Kailua. I had thought about whether catering would be easier/better/ more affordable. It does have the advantage of the little ones can run around and do their own thing while the adults enjoy time catching up. Any thoughts on whether catering would make this easier/better? I saw online that The Pig and Lady offers catering and just contacted them to see if they could give me an estimate.
Thanks for reading!! Mahalo in advance for any thoughts/advice!
