Fall 2018 Baking Cookbook of the Month VOTING

Caitlin McGrath | Sep 2, 201802:24 PM     7

It’s now time to choose our Baking COTM for September, October, and November 2018. There were a number of close contenders, but two books emerged with the most nominations, and it is between them that we will choose.

To see how we got here, check out the nomination thread: https://www.chowhound.com/post/fall-2...

On to our contenders!

THE CARDAMOM TRAIL: CHETNA BAKES WITH FLAVOURS OF THE EAST, by Chetna Maka:
"Chetna Makan is known for her unique recipes, which introduce colorful spices, aromatic herbs and other Indian ingredients into traditional Western baked favorites. Whether it's a sponge cake with a cardamom and coffee filling; puff pastry bites filled with fenugreek paneer; a swirly bread rolled with citrusy coriander, mint and green mango chutney; or a steamed strawberry pudding flavoured with cinnamon, Chetna's Indian influences will transform your baking from the familiar to the exotic, from the ordinary to the extraordinary."

FLOUR: SPECTACULAR RECIPES FROM BOSTON’S FLOUR BAKERY + CAFE, by Joanne Change:
“From Brioche au Chocolat and Lemon Raspberry Cake to perfect croissants, Flour Bakery-owner Joanne Chang's repertoire of baked goods is deep and satisfying. While at Harvard she discovered that nothing made her happier than baking cookies leading her on a path that eventually resulted in a sticky bun triumph over Bobby Flay on the Food Network'sThrowdown. Almost 150 Flour recipes such as Milky Way Tart and Dried Fruit Focaccia are included, plus Joanne's essential baking tips, making this mouthwatering collection an accessible, instant classic cookbook for the home baker.”
