My elderly cousin just moved from Queens, NY to Fairfax. Based on her address, it looks like she's off Hwy 50 a little bit west of Chantilly. She moved to be near her grandson and his fiancee, and they moved her and are taking care of her.
I would like to get her a gift card to a nice restaurant so that she can take the "kids" out to dinner. I'm not sure how adventurous they are, so maybe something American, Italian, steakhouse, etc.
They have cars, and can drive a bit...but I wanted to give you the general vicinity so that you can help. Thanks in advance!
Not sure of your price range or how far "drive a bit" is but my first thought is Great American Restaurants which is a local chain but solid. The gift card can be used at any of them. There are several in Fairfax. https://www.greatamericanrestaurants....
Thanks for the replies! I should have mentioned that the gift card would be $200, and I'd like it to cover dinner for 3 people without alcohol...but including tax & tip. I think that would leave about $50pp for food.
Do the restaurants suggested fit into this category?
Most of what you'll get out that way is going to be a chain restaurant. Sweetwater Tavern in Centreville, Coastal Flats and Ozzies in Fairfax are all owned by Great American Restaurants as others have pointed out and are good choices for those that may not be as adventurous. If they want to travel more into Fairfax City then Villa Mozart is a great italian place.
Just a side note since they live out that way. They have to get over to Willard's BBQ at some point. Best BBQ in the area.
Thanks, everyone! I think the Great American Restaurants look like a safe bet -- something for everyone. Thanks again.
