Thought I'd pass along an announcement about a panel discussion later this month at UC Berkeley:
It's called ``Factory Food: Are the Alternatives Viable?'' and promises an intriguing lineup: Eric Schlosser, author of ``Fast Food Nation''; Michael Pollan, author of ``The Botany of Desire''; Corby Kummer of the Atlantic Monthly; and Mark Hertsgaard, author of ``Earth Odyssey: Around the World in Search of Our Environmental Future.'' Alice Waters will introduce the panel; UC Berkeley journalism dean Orville Schell will moderate the discussion.
7:30 p.m. Monday, Sept. 23, Wheeler Auditorium, UC Berkeley. Free and open to the public.
