Just a quick update on a lunch. Appetizer of dickson recommended Vegetarian Chicken was quite nice. Layers of thin tofu skin wrapped and wrapped until in a sort of loaf shape then quickly fried and topped with a mild sauce. This was served cold in slices. A good texture and really enhanced by a drizzle of chili oil and vinegar.
Wife got Vegetable Deluxe or some such thing. Basically stir fry with broccolli, baby corn, sugar peas, water chesnuts, bamboo shoots, reconstituted shiitake mushrooms, one other unidentified mushroom and maybe some cabbage all bathed in a basic garlic soy sauce. Nothing earth shattering, just well prepared vegetables in sauce with rice.
I ordered soup noodles with shrimp and pork dumplings. Healthy portion of thin egg noodles, half a head of baby bok choy, shrimpy tasting broth, but in a good way, and 6 excellent dumplings filled with small shrimp, spiced ground pork and little strips of black mushrooms. Again a few dashes of chili oil, vinegar and soy round these flavors out well. Great deal at $4.50
We were a bit too hungry to venture into the unknown Chinese language menu or to consult with the owners this time, but I believe it is Sunny, and her husband are friendly and gracious and seem more than willing to accommodate special request or give suggestions. Nice place, glad its there and thanks to dickson.
