Had dinner Saturday night at Mamakas on Ossington. We were 2 couples and tried a good chunk of the menu. For apps we had saganaki, shrimp saganaki (which was sautéed shrimp in an awesome tomato sauce topped with a crumble of the best feta I have ever had), a village salad, a chopped salad and charcuterie plate. Not sure where they got the tomatoes this time of year..but there were bright red and super sweet. For mains we shared grilled octopus, grilled calamari, grilled lamb chops and grilled monster prawns stuffed with lamb sausage. This is not Danforth Greek...much more delicate, flavourful and unigue... every dish was really delicious. The room is very cozy...bright, with loud Greek music. My number 1 2015 dining experience so far.
