It's possible that I've never been to Bar Boulud before, though I'm not entirely sure. In any event, my dinner there last night is the first that I can recall. I ordered the burger, which is described on the menu as "certified black angus beef, pork belly confit, roasted tomato compote, raclette cheese, french fries." It was a truly fabulous burger, super beefy and with great flavors added by the pork belly and the raclette. Definitely destination worthy, and at $23 not at all bad for the luxury burger category. (Who ever would have thought that we'd get to the point where $23 for a burger is "not at all bad"?) Do not put ketchup on this burger. (Do not put ketchup on any quality burger; this is no exception.) I subbed in salad for the fries and was served a simple salad of greens with a light and delicious vinaigrette.
