Extreme 'Dim Sum Fatigue' after todays hefty lunch at The Emperor!!

Charles Yu | Feb 22, 2014 12:21 PM

Today's family Dim Sum Lunch at The Emperor is my 4th Dim Sum lunch this past week! Now, suffering from a case of extreme 'Dim Sum Fatigue', I swear to myself, at least for the next 3-6 months, NO MORE!!!

Our party of 14 ordered so many dishes, I don't think I can remember them all. All I can say is, quality is so-so except for an exceptionally tasty and greaseless 'Deep Fried Squid tentacles' and a delicious and tender 'Braised Beef Tendons with Chui Hau sauce'. Rest are borderline acceptable with the usual overly thick wrappers in dumplings, rice rolls and buns. At least the fillings are pretty fresh and generous.
However, in a more than decent restaurant, at $2.68 per dish across the board, 7 days a week and dim sum service up to 4.00 pm, I don't think there's room for one to be overly critical!!

I believe we had the following 17+ Dim Sum dishes plus a couple of plain vegetable dishes:

- Stirred fry glutenous rice
- Har Gow'
- Siu Mai
- Prawns with chives dumplings
- BBQ pork puffs
- Braised Beef Tendons,
- Steamed Chicken feet
- Steamed BBQ buns
- Shrimp Rice Roll
- Steamed Taro Cake
- Fried Taro Croquettes
- Fried 5 spice Squid tentacles
- Turnip cakes
- Steamed rice roll wrapped Chinese doughnut
- Steamed glutinous rice wrapped in Lotus leaf
- Egg Tarts
- Multi-layered sponge cake
- Mango Pudding

Next week, Hamburger!! Here I come!!
