Extracting duck fat from Chinese Roast Duck?

Sometimes my relatives buy Chinese roast duck and I was wondering if I can extract the duck fat that comes from it. Would this be any different than the very expensive duck fat that you can buy in store/online? If not, what is the best method to extract it and store it? It is very tasty just with some plain rice but if I get enough, I can be more creative.
