Why all the extra?

I ran across an interesting approach to broccoli - and will try - maybe adding some rosemary, thyme, sage type herb.

(edit: copied wrong link - should be: http://www.2girlsandapin.com/2-girls-... - but one above relevant too)

But what I don't understand is the reason for an 'expensive' Ziplock bag - or ANY bag. Why not just dump in/on roasting pan and stir around with wooden thing? Good for wallet, time and environment.

And what's the reason for foil? No sealing needed - no reflective 'broiler' function called for. Pans are these days easily cleaned - especially for any 'residue' for this recipe.' And usually foil ends up 'leaking' somewhere anyhow. Again - easier on wallet, time and environment.

Have these Ziplock/Foil manufacturers totally brainwashed people?
