Thanks for all of the advice about Park Slope...
First night we went to ATHENA.. husband's whole fish and my octopus were very good, but pastitso (sic) was under seasoned. The custardy dessert was terrific!! Will go back.
Second night was FONDA. While the food was excellent, the MARGARITAS were OVERPRICED...very small for the money. Stick with beer.
Lunch at PACIFICO. Would definitely go back. Food was reasonable and very good, especially the salsa. Wish the fish tacos were grilled, not fried, though.
Dinner that night was DOUBLE WINDSOR. Great beers, burgers, and catfish. A definite repeat.
On the way back to New Hampshire we had a wonderful early dinner at MULLINO in Northampton MA. The $10 entrees we had were excellent, as was the iceberg salad. We had the salmon/asparagus/mushroom pasta and it was perfectly seasoned. Only complaint is the expensive wine... should have some decent $5 glass/$20 bottles. But the beer was reasonable and cold and Italian.
Highlight of the trip was the amazing Fairway Grocery in Red Hook. Like Zabar's on steroids... and resonable prices.
