Any experiences with Big Chill Induction Cooktops (or other non-pro induction cooktops)?

The Kitchenaid gas cooktop in our home is nearing the end of its life after god knows how many years of dutiful service - 20 at least. While I like cooking with gas, I hate, hate, hate cleaning the cooktop (it's white in an all white kitchen). We have a PIRCH showroom near us and saw the Big Chill appliances which stylistically would fit in so, so well in our Palm Springs white/pastel home. So, we're considering their cooktop and their original size retro fridge (which I believe is really pricy for the interior features, but we love the look.) Down the line we may replace our wall oven as well.

I use almost exclusively Le Creuset cast iron which I understand should work for induction cooktops. My main concerns are - does the top scratch easily; does it heat evenly; do they (induction in general) have a good lifespan as an appliance.

I love the look but if the other items don't make sense it's back to gas I go. :)
