Exceptional Dim Sum in uptown Toronto - peers to Casas Imperial and Victoria? (2015 Jan edition)

scherz0 | Jan 4, 201503:32 PM

Sorry for the many posts, but family just returned to Toronto after having been in HK for 3 years. While they lived here last, they lunched at the following restaurants and ranked them as such. Are there coequals, or slightly inferior counterparts, to Casas Imperial and Victoria for their high-quality dim sum, in midtown Toronto, North York, Markham, or Richmond Hill?

1st Tier - Exceptional quality; we patronised at least bi-weekly:
Casa Imperial
Casa Victoria

Lai Wah Heen (LWH) - CAVEAT: I know that this is downtown and thus trangresses this question's scope, but I mention this just to contextualise our taste. We realise that LWH's steeply upscale and expensive, so we visited only quarterly; we're only interested in other restaurants with LWH's quality, and NOT prices!

2nd Tier - Satisfactory; we visited maybe monthly:
Spring Villa
Yang’s Fine Chinese Cuisine

3rd Tier - Unworthy; we'll probably never revisit:
Golden Court Abalone Restaurant
Legend Chinese Restaurant

I tried which displayed quite a number of such names new to us, as: ● Elegance Chinese Cuisine & Banquet (, ● Elegant Chinese Cuisine (, ● Emperor (, ● Yang’s Chinese Cuisine ( <Am I right that this differs from Yang’s Fine Chinese Cuisine above? Any relationship?>

I also tried but the previous list covered them.

Casa-Imperial Restaurant,
Casa Victoria Fine Dining and Banquet 紫爵金宴,
Lai Wah Heen,
丽晶Legend Chinese Restaurant,
Golden Court,
Yang's Fine Chinese Cuisine,
Yang's Chinese Cuisine (順峰山莊)
