Attracted by what was hanging in the window, we popped into a place called "Fortune House" (41-13 Kissena Blvd) yesterday, and-- for just $5.95-- had the best plate of roast pork I've ever had-- good-sized pieces of really lean and tasty meat. To go with it, we also had a very juicy plate of soy sauce chicken. (We requested, and got-- all white meat.) We also tried their salt-baked squid, but this was disappointing-- too much breading and not enough flavor; Manhttan's "Great NY Noodletown" is still my champ for this dish, with Congee (on the Bowery) a close and interesting second.
Anyway, I didn't see anything come up about this place (Fortune House) in a search here, so I thought I'd post about it.
