Excellent Pupusas and a great taco-The New Spot [San Francisco]

Lori SF | Nov 9, 200808:18 AM     3

I have tried Pupusas at various Salvadorian places around San Francisco but my new top favorite are the Pupusas at The New Spot- in Dogpatch on 20th Street off 3rd.

This very clean, bright (love the parrot mural on the wall), modest, little establishment make the most delicious, not greasy, pillowy Pupusas. I had the pork and cheese one it was heavenly. Comes with a side of cole slaw and a nice red salsa.

They serve mexican dishes as well so I tried the taco. They have hard and soft tacos I had the hard with grilled steak, pinto beans. This taco beats many of the ones in the Mission, the steak was flavorful, the pinto beans were perfect. I asked for some hot salsa and hot! salsa was delivered which was very flavorful and with a nice kick.

They also serve breakfast several Salvadorian and Mexican dishes. Cannot wait to go back for more Pupusas and try their version of Chilaquiles.
