I'm Korean-American, but rarely go out to Korean restaurants because I have yet to find one that matched my mom's cooking.
Looking for an overall excellent Korean restaurant in NYC. I've been to Kum Gang San and found it to be just okay. I found Woo Lae Oak in Soho to be disappointing, as well; it's "japanese" aesthetic(small artfully designed portions)antithetical to the entire notion of Korean cuisine, which is a plethora and abundance of tastes coming at you all at once.
Recommendations much appreciated.
