Excellent (but not extortionate) Chinese in central London?

Does it exist? My gf (a native New Yorker) said she remembers going to a place in Lisle Street years ago called Fung Shing. We googled it and it seemed to get really positive reviews but alas upon walking around Chinatown yesterday we discovered it had shut down.

So where do we go? Good Dim Sum would be a plus but we don't really want to pay Kai or Hakkasan prices...although I fear we may have to. How about Royal China Club in Baker Street?

I'm by no means a Chinese food aficionado, I can't say I've ever had a Chinese meal that ever really blew me away in the same way as choice meals from various other cuisines, but I suspect I haven't eaten in the right restaurant. £60-80 for the both of us with a modest bottle of wine would be about the most we'd want to pay.
