O.K. People, I have to heartily recommend Flourgirls' cupcakes (www.flourgirls.com). The "cake" part is dense, but not overly so, and moist. The *amazing* frosting is a cooked buttercream, unlike the majority of cupcakes found in Toronto which are really just butter blended with confectioner's sugar and milk. This latter recipe makes a pasty, gritty concoction, in my opinion, but maybe I'm finicky.
They've got a multitude of flavours, and all the ones I've tasted (alas, I've eaten quite a few today) have been fabulous.
They have a storefront in Milton but will deliver big batches to the city; the website has specifications.
To me, these are far better than what I've had at Life is Sweet, Babycakes, Sweet Bliss...
Anyone else tried them?
