Hi I'm new here as a member, but not as one who comes here to find information. There seem to be a lot of knowledgable people here, where I can usually find an answer to a culinary question.
I've joined now because I am thinking of replacing my everyday dinnerware with something that suits me a bit better than what I have (left). I am looking for something smallish (preferably not more than a 10' dinner plate), plain white, plain pattern (if any), porcelain. I had a set of Crate and Barrel dinnerware that is really great, but extremely oversized and does not encourage reasonable portion control. About half of this is gone, due to breakage in a very active family. I have replaced pieces with inexpensive stoneware from Target over the years and I'm tired of it. The stoneware gets covered in silverware markings and is pretty ugly. The Crate and Barrel porcelain never did that.
