Yes, it is possible to eat well at a gas station. The proof is by ordering the samaya bazi at Everest Momo Plus. The main feature of this sampling platter (a kind of thali) is flattened rice that's been toasted. Surrounding that is dal, spiced peanuts, potato curry, and vegetables. Altogether it is a very satisfying dish, especially if you pour some of the dipping sauce that comes with an order of momo.
The momo here are chicken. They are quite juicy, if a bit too salty. Curled and sealed on the top. There are also crescent-shaped vegetarian momo, but I'll save those for another time.
Other items we didn't get to on this trip are vatmas or aloo sadeko and chicken choila, which is normally very spicy. It will be interesting to see if that holds true here.
