There have been some great suggestions on this board
with regard to regional foods or food quirks in the US
such as Johnny cakes from RI, Moon cakes / goo goo
bars from KY etc., however a contribution of thoughts
by the Madrileño CH, butterfly on a post below in
relation to marzipan made with marcona and largueta
almonds, along with other Spanish delights such as
turron, polvorones, mantecadas, leads me to start a
thread on ''European delights'' so please name the
Country/Region and the food or ingredient.

Portugal - Pastéis de nata
Switzerland/Savoyardes region: Chocolates (Lindt),
Cheese: Beaufort/Comte/Emmenthal, Tartiflette,
Fribourg / Gruyere
Germany -Black forest cake ?
