Tom Sietsema in tomorrow's Post gives it one star, which is an accurate assessment. But overall he liked it! He calls it "a looker" and says that "the fishing can be fine."
My wife and I liked Bonefish a lot. Not because this is a great restaurant but because it's an excellent value with dependably good food some of which is even very good.
I actually have ambivalent feelings about liking it. There is a real market for this that few, if any, independents are filling at this price point or with an enjoyable ambience. The fact that this market exists and can be filled by a national chain (even a good national chain restaurant) is really sad. I believe that as the cost of opening a restaurant escalates fewer individals are willing to take a chance to open their own.
Having said this there is another national chain coming into the DC/Balt area that I also like: Bahama Breeze from Darden Restaurants. Their first one is now open north of Towson. I'm surprised that no one has posted about it yet. Similar to Bonefish this has good to very good food at a medium price point (i.e. $12 to 19 entrees) and an enjoyable atmosphere.
