Ethnic Cheap Eats for visitors

discokill | Jan 20, 2004 10:20 PM

Have a visitor coming to town who is always on the prowl for top notch ethnic food of the cheap eats/hole-in-the wall variety. I realize this board is full of suggestions but is there any greatest hits, can't miss ideas? So far I'm thinking Loteria, Ambala Dhaba and Papa Cristo's. Any can't miss places in K-town? Or anything really rise above the pack in Thai Town? I don't think she'll be into the Pinks and Burger joints of LA.

I'm LACMA/Park La Brea area based so I'm looking really only as far east as K-Town and then down to Venice/SM (including Westwood, etc, etc).

Thanks!
