Jim Leff: I just met your friend Steve Dobson, who gave me your book and told me about this site. Wow! I lived around the corner from Tiemann Oasis for ten years. (actually it's about ten years old itself? Opened during my time up there.) Anyway, there are two more restaurants right there, on Broadway, that I think merit website or book mention. One is Ethiopian and has gone through various names and levels of quality during the past 15 years, but last time I was there, last spring, it was totally yummy. Best injira in town, and filled with ex-pat cab drivers--a good sign. It used to be the Red Sea, but that's a few names ago. Just a few doors south is a wonderful West African place, name also forgotten, that does great things with peanut soup, goat and such--now I'm inspired to go back and check it out, and get the names straight. Both are on Broaway between Lasalle and Tiemann, and both are worth the ride (#1 to 125)
