Estonian Black Bread Garlic Toast

We just returned from a trip to the Baltic Countries and while enjoying the delicious local beer were also introduced to the typical "beer snack" to have with it...it was thin slices of black bread toasted or roasted in a garlic butter and served with some type of garlic sauce. We could not get enough of it!
Now we are home and would like to replicate the experience. Is anyone familiar with the snack?
Does anyone know where we could purchase this type of black bread?
We live in the San Pedro area.
