Essential Dallas-Fort Worth Restaurant for First-Time Visit By New York Foodies

monab | Dec 15, 201402:46 PM     25

Hello there

I will be in the area for a couple of days (2 lunches and 2 dinners) at the end of December and would be very grateful for all suggestions:

What places showcase the best that the area has to offer, that I absolutely should not miss?

My focus is on restaurants that are in someway unique, indicative of the food scene in Dallas-Fort Worth, or that focus on cusines that may not be as good in New York (e.g., Mexican or bbq - both traditional and modern)

Cost is not really a factor - from food trucks to fine dining - it just the best food that I'm after.

Thanks in advance for your help!

(PS - I am perusing restaurant lists on Eater, Thrillist etc. - are these reliable? Are there any other websites I should be looking at?)
