Have You Ever Made Escargot?

I'm asking because I'm just curious. Wegman's used to sell frozen escargot in the shells. Apparently laws in the USA have changed and the chain no longer sells these little delights because you can no longer buy snails IN the shells anymore. I don't know if this holds through for the entire USA but in Pennsylvania you can't even go to a restaurant and get snails in the shells.

Our solution was to just make them ourselves at home. My husband went on this website: Thegourmetfoodstore.com He purchased the shells and snails. What can I say? He's a Frenchman and every Saturday night I cook old-school French style meals for him.

I went online and got a great recipe from Food and Wine--Chef Ludo Lefebvre's Snails in Parsley butter.

Wow--was this a winner! We have 12 more of these nuggets in the freezer for the weekend and I may do more for Christmas eve. Ever try this?
