Epiphanie Chocolate in Calgary is open

John Manzo | Dec 16, 200907:41 PM     3

In the 11 St SW space that used to be Steeling Home (now nearby on 17th Ave SW next to Farm), right by Connaught Park, on the same block as Galaxie Diner, is Epiphanie Chocolates. They opened a week or so ago and I paid them a visit today.

It's a tiny shop in a tiny space, perfect, I think, for a business of this sort. I didn't sample everything but what I saw/tasted I loved. In particular: these chocolate hearts filled with a passionfruit creme. They were just... incredible. Sweet but somehow just a tiny bit savoury...sorry but my chocolate vocabulary isn't good; you can sample the combination in these tiny little chocolate cups filled with different fillings assembled for samples; I had the passionfruit and the raspberry, both excellent. Then I bought two of the aforementioned hearts and, well, ate them. $1.85 a piece.

Epiphanie has three different hot chocolates and though I'm no fan of hot chocolate (but ask me again) I look forward to sampling theirs.
