Epicurious Garden opens this Saturday!

Morton the Mousse | Mar 16, 2006 11:28 AM

I'm so excited, I'm shaking in my office chair! After months of delays, permitting problems, contractor conflicts and participants pulling out Epicurious Garden is finally scheduled to open. Construction is complete, they passed their inspections and everything is set open to the public this Saturday. This will be the premier East Bay opening of the year!

For those of you who haven't been following this: Epicurious Garden is a gourmet food court located in North Berkeley two doors down from Chez Panisse. Various vendors will serve ecclectic, organic food to go; like a mini Ferry Building but without the retail shops. Food options will include Soccas, Sushi, Bento Boxes, Soups, Stews, Chilis, Chowders, Panini, Salads, Fresh Bread, Rotisserie Chicken, Dim Sum, Gelato, Chocolates and Caviar. Just when you thought the Gourmet Ghetto couldn't get any better...

This is going an awesome weekend of exploratory chowing and I'm sure I wont be the only hound there. Hounds who don't live in Berkeley should know that the Garden is in walking distance from the Downtown Berkeley BART station (parking is quite difficult around here). Watch for reports coming in all weekend.
