Epicurean Cutting Boards

I just purchased one of these boards. After washing the board, I noticed a strong chemical odor. When I dried the board with a paper towel, the smell transferred to the towel as well. I was reluctant to use the board, as I did not want the smell and whatever is causing it in my food. Is the smell normal for this type of board? Will it go away eventually?
