Hello all, I mispelled 'Engfer' in an earlier post, sorry about that. This place in Santa Cruz does GREAT wood fired pizza, in a little neighborhood place that just does pizzas. The other places that do wood fired pizzas in the area are ritzy places. To anyone living or visiting in Santa Cruz I recommend this place, it's very chow-worthy.
Below is my husband's review he wrote for our farm winter newsletter:
Engfer Pizza Works
A great little neighborhood pizza place

Just because we have kids it doesn't follow that we want to eat lousy pizza in an atmosphere that beeps, blats, and explodes with simulated video game violence. So it was with a good deal of pleasure that we discovered Engfer Pizza Works down near the end of Seabright Ave. in Santa Cruz. When I took my five-year-old daughter and sever-year-old son there recently it was a complete success for all of us. The woman at the counter was very welcoming and helpful. While we waited for them to cook the pizza my children enjoyed watching them make the pies and slide them in and out of the big open wood-fired oven. My son had fun playing at a ping pong table in a side room and my daughter asked the pizza cooker a million questions. The young lady answered her questions gracefully and patiently and rewarded her interest with some stickers. The pizza was great. They use fresh, local, organic and seasonal toppings, along with the classics. They use a wood-burning oven to cook all their pizzas. There was a wide range of drinks to choose from and we left completely satisfied. There had been no explosions.
**This restaurant is near the end of Seabright near the Seabright Brewery in Santa Cruz.
