Two items struck me: Stock brokers (wealth managers) are inviting clients to learn of the joys of cooking at home, and 2) The governor of California is seen cavorting with other officials including health officials, all without wearing masks at $350 a plate dinner parties at the famous French Laundry.
Here’s a quaint invite to the first item:
“2020 has been a year like no other and one of the recurring themes we have seen is food and the comforts of home cooking.
Join us on November 24, 2020 at 5:30 p.m. EST for an inspirational evening of cooking and conversation with award-winning chef, restaurateur, author, philanthropist and food activist Marcus Samuelsson. Samuelsson shares stories of the remarkable journey from his grandmother's humble kitchen in Sweden to running some of the most demanding restaurants in the world and the valuable lessons that grew from his experiences. Virtual seats are limited, so please register beforehand”.
The two items are not connected of course, yet they struck a note about the same time in my consciousness. As I mentioned, a certain quaint quality to them both.
