Elysian Cafe: new in Hoboken from the Amanda's folks

xavier | Jul 25, 2004 09:25 PM

The couple that owns Amanda's has FINALLY completed their renovation of the Elysian Cafe, an old, old, old bar that is now half bar half restaurant. They've only got a light bar menu for now, but it's going to get more ambitious, mid-priced bistro fare. But mmm, they have a lobster roll and a croque moiseur. I didn't have the steak sandwich, but it looked amazing. No desserts yet. Like I say, it's a soft launch.

It's an unbelievable restoration. The plasterwork alone is dramatic. But unless you're alreay in the neightborhood, give them some time to get settled.
