Ellie's Grill and Coney - Berkley, MI

goatgolfer | Feb 11, 201107:46 PM     3

A little slice of Macedonian heaven on Coolidge in Berkley. I have only been for lunch a few times and others have commented that the breakfasts are very good but the mixed grill (kebapi, pleskavitze, pork kebab, and pork chop) with bread from Cantoro is incredible. It takes ~20 minutes to prepare but each has it's own unique flavor and preparation. There are enormous steak fries as well. I am told by a Macedonian (no really) friend that this is truly authentic.

They boast Hungarian dishes as well but I haven't made it that far down the specials list. If you want food prepared like you haven't likely had it before give it a try. No alcohol and it is clearly coney-esque but take your major hunger with you or a very big doggie bag.
