Used a Living Social coupon to go to this cute little joint in Haddon Heights. Very nice American tapas menu, with a lot of fresh selections. The chef focuses on seasonal ingredients and then works his menu into sections that the diner can then float through.
We began with three starters, as the chef dubs 'in the beginning'. Spinach, artichoke and goat cheese egg roll, shrimp and grits with smoked tomatoes, the ravioli of the day, sweet potato. All these were outstanding, with all the flavor interplay very subtle yet very identifiable. The ravioli were super light with a really flavorful pesto surrounding it.
We followed these with a salad each, the panzanella with black olives and the spinach salad with gorgonzola, walnuts and amazing pickled red onions. The spinach was neatly chopped into ribbons and again had great flavors throughout.
For mains, which were really nice sized portions for $9-12, I got the salmon with amazingly crispy skin and a sweet and tangy orange glaze. The gnocchi with roasted seasonal vegetables was good, but a bit small on the portion size. Very tasty however.
We ended with a bread pudding with cream anglaise, an amazing finish to a really awesome meal.
For ~$70, we had a very sizable meal, with great flavors and great ingredients, outstanding attentive service in a very simply decorated long restaurant. Absolutely coming back here!
