Elegant way to cover food outdoors?

sasha1 | Apr 30, 201503:20 PM

We are having a Bar Mitzvah reception on our lawn this summer, with some foods bound to evoke odors that call all neighborhood insects. I'm thinking of bagels, lox, cream cheeses, different sliced veggie accoutrements. [I will keep things cold! probably by putting smaller bowls or platters onto ice filled larger ones.]

My plan was to put things on pretty platters/bowls and look for something to cover them with, either clear glass/plastic/acrylic (to keep odors down) or mesh (wouldn't address odors but the bugs wouldn't be in the food). Assuming I need something for everything except the bagels and maybe whole stone fruits, I'm interested in products that will be attractive enough for a Bar Mitzvah, but not break the bank as we won't use them again often.

Are there specific products out there? What are they called if I should google? Is this the type of thing that a party rental might have for rent? Thanks everyone!
