Just want to thank whichever hound it was who suggested El Zarape in SD for fish tacos. I got two batter fried fish tacos and one grilled scallop taco. The fish was very crunchy on the outside and tender and moist on the inside. The accompanying creamy sauce went really well with it, along with some of the green hotsauce i added. The scallop taco was also delicious. The scallop was well seasoned and perfectly grilled, moist and tender and not a hint of chewiness. My ladyfriend had the grilled mahi mahi tacos which she also really enjoyed. The spicy pickled vegetables at the fixin bar were a perfect side to the meal.
Granted as a ny'er i do not have too much experience with the fish taco but this was very good in my opinion. My only problem was the Jamaica drink was a bit bland for my taste, but yet again i don't have too much experience with the Mexican version of the drink, I am used to drinking the West Indian version, sorrel which may just be stronger regardless.
Anyways thanks for the rec, this is the sort of place i probably would not have stumbled upon as a tourist without the help of Chowhound.
