El Sobrante: The Bamboo Chopstick - 11 types of bahn mi

rworange | Mar 13, 2008 06:17 PM

I had the grilled pork bahn mi. The pork was impressive, tender and nicely marinated in five spice.

The sandwich isn't as stuffed as some but it is not stingy either. Nice crunchy toasted roll, jullienned carrots, pickled radish, jalepeno slices, cucumber and cilantro

The rest of the details are a blur as I didn't have breakfast and sort of devoured this sandwich.

Bamboo chopstick has expanded its menu a bit and dropped some prices.

They added the Vietnamese sandwiches ($2.50) - (1) combo, (2) grilled pork, (3) cured pork, (4) grilled chicken, (5) fried fish cake, (6) fried pork roll (7) sardine, (8) meatball (9) beef (10) BBQ pork (11)ham

The also have more pho, 17 types, and a smaller size. Any of the pho is $5.25 small, $6.25 medium and $7.25.

They have more options in most catagories. The online menu hasn't been updated with the changes.

The room seems a little spiffed up too ... nice vases with real roses on every table.
