I'm living in an area with quite a few El Salvadorian eateries. My search on the web is not turning up much.
Does anyone have info that could educate me about El Salvadorian food ... articles, cookbooks, personal knowledge?
I was in a bakery that had pasteles - a sort of fruit/meat turnover. There is a pretty pink dessert called a Maria Luisa - looks like a pink Napolian. Who was Maria Luisa and why did this dessert get named for her?
Any info would be appreciated.
