After our disappointing dinner at Los Arcos, my wife insisted on going to El Salvador on Broadway near Pratt for lunch Saturday. Nice clean restaurant, Gold Cup soccer on TV, very loud music. We both had the sopa y mariscos for $11. I don't think the waitress had much English (don't tell Don Schaefer!), but my wife speaks a little Spanish and I speak restaurant Spanish. Very good service. The broth was a delicious fish, tomato, and vegetable stock, chock full of 2 kinds of shrimp, scallops, clams, and mussels, all quite tasty except the mussels which tasted less than fresh and we avoided them. It was served with thick flour tortillas. Afterwards we headed down to the market for some very good gelato.
