El Roy's Mexican Grill Truck | Petaluma - Sonoma County

Melanie Wong | Dec 18, 201604:41 PM     2

After the big storm passed Thursday night, I grabbed a bite in Petaluma stopping at El Roy's truck for the first time. It's parked at Lakeville & E. Washington Street in the parking lot of Craftsman Floor Coverings.

More than two dozen people milling around had the same idea, waiting for their food under the canopy. Taco de camarones, $2, featured two big shrimp on dry, stale corn tortillas dressed with a chipotle aioli. Guess I thought they were be grilled, given the business's name, but these were boiled. Much better was the Gordita al pastor, $3.50, a crispy masa cake filled with queso fresco, crema, avocado, lettuce, marinated pork and salsa. And the hot Champurrado was pretty good.
