Went to El Rey Friday night with hubby and a friend for Australia. Loved the food! It was my first nopales (cactus) dish and we all liked the flavors.
For starters we had their guac and chips (excellent) and fish ceviche (their menu is not online and it was a fish I had never seen before). For "main dishes" we had tacos, tostados, cactus salad, and the short rib enchiladas. Everything was delicious and at fair price points. This is a "small plates" restaurant and the server recommended 2 plates per person. Our tally for 3 people was 2 apps and 4 small plates and we were full. It was $90 before tip and included our second round of drinks: 2 beers and 1 margarita. Not sure whether this amount of food would satisfy parties. We are all over 50 and not eating huge amounts.
Two downsides, no reservations and it was very loud.
