El Nuevo Faro - Conamed Plaza Matamoros

Im not sure whether its under new ownership but the newly renoved El Nuevo Faro (sorry, I call it El Faro sometimes) at 5th and 17th in Brooklyn seems to have noticeably increased its tilt toward mexican and south american stuff.

They are stocking quite a number of fresh and dried mexican herbs now, in addition to the cilantro, culantro, epazote, purslane......

there is refrigerated mole poblano and mole oaxaqueno and the mexican chorizo mentioned on the other thread.

Im sorry they dont have the bin next to the front door of perfectly ripened plantains that they had previously, but they are still carrying sour oranges and other stuff for caribbean cuisine as well.
