El Cerrito: Oralia's Kitchen

Mola | Nov 12, 2013 02:28 PM

I noticed a "Grand Opening" sign on this place on my way to Home Depot today, so I stopped in: they've been open since September. I tried papusas: one pork/cheese and one loroco/cheese. Both were great, and the curtido was nice and sour with a bit of bite. I also tried the coconut agua fresca: delicious, and a great deal at $2.50 for a large cup.

It's super bright and cheerful inside, and service was very friendly. I also appreciate the fact that the plates, cups, and salsa containers are all compostable.

The menu includes tacos, burritos, quesadillas, nachos, tortas, and plates, as well as fried chicken (?). Next time I might try the fried chicken burrito, which sounds delicious and totally not good for me (maybe this is a burrito to split with a friend). I'm also curious about the Burrito Guanaco, which has fried plantains, black beans, cheese, sour cream and salsa.

Current hours are 8 am-8 pm, Monday through Saturday.
