el castillo de jagua

live in chinatown and am growing very, very tired of the local asian delivery.

remembered i headed to el castillo de jagua when i first moved to ny so i called to get delivery this afternoon.

a piping hot, crusty cubano filled with freshy soft roasted pork, ham, cheese, pickles, mayo, on a great roll that was toasted perfectly. the sandwhich was $3.50! it was filled with so much roast pork i could only eat half!

i also got a small order of sancocho. a dominican soup with pork that was falling off the bone, potato, other veggies, in a thick yellow broth. perfectly seasoned and delicious.

if you're in the mood for cheap latin american cuisine, i'd definitely check out el castillo de jagua. i can't wait to try their other soups and seafood specialities.
