Just picked up the September LA Magazine with Patrick Kuh's excellent collection of the top 25 Mexican restaurants. It was enough to send me right out to pick up some dollar tacos at my favorite tacqueria on Inglewood just below Culver, only to find it closing for the day. Went next door to El Abajeno which I'd never tried. Long line for take out but worth the wait. Great carnitas buritto, tacos, cheese enchiladas and biting salsas. $23 for everything which included rice and beans. By the way, El Abajeno didn't make the list which shouldn't prevent people from trying it.
