Yes, but what about Egg Salad?

Any recommendations on places for a great egg salad sandwich?

This is one of those sandwiches that's not taken very seriously by most establishments (or their customers), probably because it is so seemingly simple to make, and has the perception of never being able to rise above a certain level.

But I disagree.

Someone turned me on to Eli Zabar's version in NYC at his E.A.T. restaurant. Elegant in its simplicity: larger size egg hunks mixed with just the right amount of mayo, and maybe a little fresh dill thrown in, served on a nice piece of pumpernickel. I've never had a $13 egg salad sandwich before, and while not technically "worth" this obscene price, was mighty good indeed.
