The Edge Cafe, Vancouver

After a delightful late lunch from the somewhat unfortunately named Falafully Good on Cambie (great falafel and chicken shawarma), we were in need of a Sunday afternoon coffee fix. Since one of our lunch companions had to go to the newish Home Despot at 8th and Yukon, she suggested The Edge, which is kitty korner to the HD. Good call. They serve 49th Parallel coffee (oh bliss) in a half coffee bar, half boothy restaurant setting. The owner Judy is very welcoming and goes to great lengths to ensure you are happy with your hot beverage. They also serve an all day brunch selection and even burgers -- the plates prepped for other patrons looked great. The resto has been open for 8 months during the din of construction both from the Canaduh line and the buildings all around, but Judy says business is building steadily. Will be back to try the brekky offerings for sure. Has anyone else been?
